Woodbridge Lodge staff proud of Good CQC report

Staff at Woodbridge Lodge residential home are proud to be rated good in all five categories with a good overall by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Inspectors found the service at the Kingsley Healthcare run home, in Burkitt Road, Woodbridge, to be caring, well-led, safe, responsive and effective.

Woodbridge Lodge manager Jill Harris said: “It’s been a real team effort and we are delighted to have been rated good in every category.

“We are proud to be highly regarded as a friendly home offering really good person centred care. The positive way we are regarded by the local community is reflected in heart-warming reviews on Carehome.co.uk.”

Inspectors observed that people were treated with respect, kindness and compassion and one resident told them: “Staff do care, they are great.”

Relatives said staff treated residents in a dignified manner, one saying: “The carers are marvellous, mum is looked after very well.”

Inspectors reported that residents were able to enjoy a variety of activities and noted that music sessions, a card-making workshop and a performance by an Elvis impressionist were enjoyed during their visit.

One relative said their loved one enjoyed the “beautiful” garden and was impressed by the variety of activities and trips out.

Residents were complimentary about food at Woodbridge Lodge, one describing it as “lovely”.

A family member told inspectors: “My relative eats very well; they have a good choice of food.”

The lunchtime experience was observed to be a sociable occasion with staff supporting people to eat and drink and not hurrying them up.

Residents told inspectors they felt safe in the home and one relative said: “It’s a nice feeling knowing my relative is safe.”

The report praises leadership at Woodbridge Lodge and observes that staff understood their roles and were happy to work there as part of a team.
