Water purification plant installation at Hartley College, Point Pedro, Sri Lanka

Our charities, The Velummayilum Foundation and Lotus Children’s Foundation have installed drinking water facilities at the Hartley College in Point Pedro.

This is the second water purification project completed by the Foundations, the first being at the Methodist Girl’s High School in Point Pedro in 2018.

The project, completed on May 16, 2019, followed a visit by Daya and Sumi Thayan in February this year when they were guests of honour at the prestigious Hartley College Felicitation Function.

New storage tanks connected to a water purification plant will help to supply clean drinking water for the school community. There are known problems of kidney disease and urinary tract infections which affect the wider population in the country. We are delighted to have done this.

Mr Muhunthan, Principal of Hartley College greatly appreciated the continued support of the Foundations.

Both The Velummayilum Foundation and Lotus Children’s Foundation charities are funded entirely by ourselves.
