The construction of our new luxury care home in Buckinghamshire has hit a major milestone after reaching its highest point.

Olney Meadows is a 66-bedroom care home in Olney which is being developed by Midlands-based Deeley Construction on behalf of Kingsley Healthcare Group.

It is expected to open its doors to residents in Summer 2024 and the development partners came together to celebrate its progress at a topping-out ceremony.

The new flagship care home is on Worcester Way, on the edge of Olney, and is expected to generate more than 100 jobs when completed and operational.

It is set to include high-quality features for residents including a library, a café, state-of-the art cinema room and a private dining room for residents to celebrate special occasions.

The home will feature a range of ground-floor rooms with private patios and other rooms with attractive terraces, with a therapy and wellness room also available to residents.

Steve Turner, Construction Director at Deeley Construction, said: “Reaching this significant milestone for the development is fantastic and work is on track to be completed in the next few months.

Deeley Construction is building the home to BREEAM ‘Very Good’ standard, a standard which is used to specify and measure the sustainability performance of buildings.

The care home will utilise air source heart pumps for energy supply and benefits from two electric vehicle charging points.

“We have a strong partnership with Kingsley and this is the second scheme which we have worked with them to deliver.

“This will be a first-class care home with superb facilities. We look forward to the completion of construction work and it being open for residents to enjoy.”

Olney Meadows has been designed by award-winning architects Condy & Lofthouse and Kingsley Healthcare has commissioned award-winning interior designers for the living spaces, ensuring resident wellbeing is at the heart of designs.

Muj Malik, Kingsley’s Chief Investment Officer, said: “We are thrilled to have reached this important milestone in the construction of Olney Meadows, our latest flagship luxury nursing home.

“It will be a care facility of which the community of Olney can be truly proud, combining stunning facilities and the top class care for which Kingsley is renowned. It has been a pleasure working with Deeley Construction on our second care home project together.”
